This week’s image was shot late Thursday afternoon driving home from town. The sunlight hitting the mountains really caught my eye. I played around with my new camera and lenses. This image was shot at 300mm with my new 70-300 zoom. I did a little processing in photoshop, but not a lot. I am very impressed with the lens -great detail, exposure and colour right out of the camera. There is great detail in the clouds in the sky, it is not blown out and yet some good detail in the dark foreground.
Bonus Image. Also shot on the same drive as the image above. I really have always been drawn to simple/minimalist images. Winter snow and silhouetted trees create such images. This was shot with my 16-85 mm lens at around 70mm. Again I am really impressed with the detail. The shadow in the snow between the two hills was very subtle but the camera captured it.
