Weekly Photos: Black and White or Not?

Deciding to convert a colour image to black and white is usually easy.  Good candidates would be images that have high contrast, dark images against a bright background or sky.  Often images shot on a dull day can be saved with conversion to black and white.  The following images I think are much better converted to black and white.

However, sometimes both the black and white and the colour images can be special.  I really like the black and white images from our spring trip to Salt Spring Island, B.C.   But the colour images are just as good.  What do you think?

While this image looks like a black and white it is the original colour image with the blue water still showing.  I liked how the blue colours of the water turned out.
