This shot of Mt. Edith Cavell was taken last Aug. on a quick 2 day trip through Jasper. Surprisingly it was my first time to Edith Cavell and the Angel Glacier. It is a scenic place I will return to. Edith Cavell is believed to be the source for The Eratics Train of Alberta, of which the most famous rock is the Okotoks big rock.
The foreground in this image is too dark, yet the sky is a little over exposed. This is one of the problems of shooting mountain scenes at midday, especially when you have to face south into the sun. You cannot ask the mountain to move and put the sun behind you. I’ll try to give the image more time in photoshop to improve it.
